Why Stickers?
Stickers are an interesting medium. They can be simplistic or complicated; serve as branding or as art; but most of all it’s not the easiest thing to pick up. If you want to get into sticker making, you have to format files, pick the right paper, and find a way to print. Sticker making can be tons of fun, but there are roadblocks people have explained… but in many different sources. This website will serve as one comprehensive source to get anyone prepared to make their own custom stickers.
First, you have to start with either what or why you want to make stickers. Depending on what it is you’re intending to make, your process will begin differently. This will alter where and how your process will begin. It’s important for you to figure this out before you start spending money on supplies. If you only want to make a few stickers for some friends then you don’t need to spend a ton of money on stickers.

An important thing to pay attention to is whether or not you want to make your stickers for personal use or commercial use, i.e. do you want to make stickers for yourself or your close friends, or do you want to make profit either from your stickers or the things you put your stickers on.

If you intend to make stickers for personal use, your cost can be as low as you’re comfortable with. Your main goal is to please yourself and/or people close to you. That isn’t to say you don’t have to try, you just don’t have to concern yourself with lastability or making it very high quality. At the same time, you can spend more money on your few stickers since you won’t be making a ton. That means you can also go to an online sticker producer to make a few stickers.

If you intend to make stickers for commercial use, you first have to decide if you want to be your own printer or not. There isn’t anything wrong with using an online source to order your stickers in bulk; it reduces costs by quite a bit since you won’t have to pay for a printer, ink, or paper. However, you’ll have to pay more attention to supply and demand. I’ll go more in depth with this concept later on.

If you print your own stickers for commercial use, you have to take into consideration your printer, what kind of ink/toner it has, as well as paper choices.
